Annie Sloan Chalk Paint – Painting Metal

0

Found this gem on sale at Hobby Lobby. Originally the price of it was $199, but I snagged it at a sale for $36. What a steal! I have been using Annie Sloan Chalk Paint on a lot of my painting projects lately. You could use this specific chalk paint on wood, metal, plastic, etc – so thought it would be a good test to see if it really does work on metal.

I had the hardest time trying to figure out where to buy the products. There is a website where you can see what retailers are near you. All you have to do is type in your zip code and the website does the rest! Found out there are several stores in my area that sell Annie Sloan, yippee!

Here is the list of colors that Annie Sloan has to offer. I have used many of the colors and haven’t been disappointed in any of them. A few of my favorites are: Paris Grey, Old Ochre, Arles, & French Linen.

Annie Sloan offers a soft wax and a dark wax that adds the finishing touches to any piece you are painting. Annie Sloan products are kinda on the pricier side of things, but in the end it is worth it! I have purchased some other brushes and waxes as well and were pleased with my off brand finds.

Once the paint dried, I used some sandpaper to sand off some of the edges and ridges that the mirror naturally had to bring out the brown color it originally had underneath. This project took me a total of 40 min. This paint is quick to dry, no horrible fumes, and best of all – is usable on almost any surface! Next big decision, where to hang it….stay tuned!
