Top 10 IKEA Items

I have to start this post off by saying – IKEA is one my all time favorite places to shop!! Hands down. Love it. Ok, well now that that is off my chest let’s dig into why I think that way. This last week I spent the day at IKEA.  The closest one is 3 hours away, so it’s kinda a big deal to decide to go.

Top 10 IKEA Items

Ikea offers great style selections with great prices, making it a lot easier to dress your nest for less.  I am showing you the Top 10 Ikea Items that I have bought and love! On your next trip be sure to look into these items and stock up at these amazing prices! If you are wondering why they have such funny names – IKEA was founded in Norway so the items are all in Norwegian.

Top 10 Ikea Items

  •  ALVINE KVIST duvet cover set – We bought this item for our guest bedroom.  We now own 2 different IKEA duvet covers and love them both! They’re a steal at $39.99
  • FEJKA artificial plant – These are so simple and add a touch of green to every room.  No joke – I think we might have one in every room of our house 🙂 The white pots from Ikea go well with these plants. $5.99 each
  • EIVOR throw blanket – This item has been around for quite some time (most likely because it is so popular!) It is super soft, quite large for a throw blanket and neutral colors to match any colorful decor you might have.  $24.99

Top 10 Ikea Items

  • BYGEL bar cart – I just snagged this pretty on this week’s road trip.  For $29.99, I couldn’t say no.  You can even turn it into a coffee cart if alcohol isn’t your thing.
  • VITTSJO shelving unit – A great storage solution.  We have this piece in our living room, but it would also be great in an office! Use the Kvarvik Boxes to store craft items or blankets.  $79.00

Top 10 Ikea Items

  • RIBBA frame – A simple, yet stylish design.  These frames can be used either hanging or standing.  Just $2.99 each
  • KVARNVIK box with lid – These boxes are great for newspapers, photos, craft items, or any other memorabilia.  The included label helps you create an overview to quickly find your things.  Don’t like the label? Easily remove it for a cleaner look.  $16.99 each
  • ELLY dish towel – Such a great dish towel set.  If you do any food photography – these are great for getting a different look each and every time because of the selection. $3.99/4 pack
  • FJADRAR pillow cushion – Throw pillows normally are SO expensive.  I found these great throw pillows for $3.99.  Add one of Ikea’s cushion covers for only $5 and you have a throw pillow for $9. The down comforter feeling is what you get with this pillow.
  • RANARP desk lamp – Gold & white colors are my weakness, so naturally this lamp had to come home with me.  The black and white cord is another great touch.  $39.99

I sometimes feel like my entire home is made up of Ikea stuff. My favorites are the Ektorp couches with the white slipcover. I love that I can take it off and throw it in the wash! 🙂

I love that bar cart! I seriously am in love with basically everything at Ikea. Their faux plants are great, but so are their real succulents. I need to make a trip soon.

I just bought more artificial plants from Ikea. I’m kind of obsessed with them right now! I love your wreath that is on the bookcase. Ikea is just so perfect! Our closest one used to be 45 minutes away, and then we moved. Now it’s a good 2.5 hours.

I have to go to IKEA. We actually have one a little over an hour away (so I understand your 3 hour trip planning)…and I’ve yet to go. I know I would love it and will probably have a really hard time leaving without everything I want to buy. lol

IKEA is just one of the stores you’re going to fall in love with once you start building your own home! Those are lovely choices, no wonder they are on the top 10 list!

Ikea is by far my #1 store when it comes to decorating my house. I have to try and go as infrequently as possible because I may have an addiction! Great quality for reasonable prices.

Ha, half our house is IKEA! Let me see: the couch, the plates, the curtains, the bedspread, the bookcases… I could go on. Love the inspiration you’ve found here.

I own many of the products you listed! I love, love the plants! They really do add a pop of color. I needed a super long curtain rod and Ikea came to the rescue! Seriously the best store ever!

  • Reply Adriana February 12, 2016 at 9:49 am

Ugh I just looove ikea so much! That shelving unit is everything – seriously I need that in my life! I’ve seen it before and everyone styles it so differently but SO pretty! Love this!

  • Reply Melissa February 12, 2016 at 12:07 pm

I love your picks! My mom and I used to go to Ikea all the time. We used to live like 20 minutes from the store in Illinois but now we live in Iowa and there is nothing like it out here. That makes me so sad, I loved going there so much!

  • Reply NotNowMomsBusy February 12, 2016 at 12:37 pm

We love IKEA products. About 11 years ago we bought 4 dressers from IKEA and two tall cabinets. We use the cabinets as extra storage when we lived in homes that did not have a kitchen pantry or enough closets. We have recently moved a few times and all of our IKEA furniture withstood the moves, without a scratch.

Unfortunately we are now getting ready to make a very long distance move and the IKEA furniture, along with a lot of other personal items, had to go. It is just too expensive to move it all. So we gave away the dressers to a good friend and donated the other items too.

I musst be an outcast because I don’t have any Ikea items in my home but I’ve defintiely been eyeing the Vittsjo unit for a loooong while now (thanks to interest) as well as their Micke desk and closet systems. Their items look very customizable so I need to get my coins together and join the club!

Great suggestions to make the spaces of my house really stand out! This are all great

If there is one thing I miss about living in a bigger city it’s being near Ikea! I have that lamp in the desktop and floor version so I obviously love them haha I love that minimalistic shelving unit too. I’m going to have to see how much that would be to ship here 😉

  • Reply Nancy L. February 12, 2016 at 1:23 pm

I love all of the Ikea items you purchased! The plants and shelving are my two must-haves, but I really do want them all! The black shelving wouldn’t work with my decor, but at that price point, I would paint it gold! 🙂

  • Reply The Mad Mommy February 12, 2016 at 1:51 pm

I really like what people put together from Ikea, but I have such a hard time in the stores! I seriously get so lost and have no idea how to shop at Ikea, LOL!

  • Reply Amber Hill February 12, 2016 at 2:41 pm

I DESPERATELY need to plan a trip to IKEA. I’m seriously obsessing over that throw blanket and lamp. I think I’m just going to have to tell my husband to watch the kids this weekend and make a day of it! 🙂

  • Reply jenny Ostenson Photography February 12, 2016 at 2:42 pm

I have a few of those pieces myself. Love Ikea!

I spend serious time at my local Ikea and this may make you jealous – it’s only 10 minutes away! I do have the Kvarnik storage box, but that’s just a minor thing, I also have a Poang chair and ottoman, assorted Billy bookcases, a couple of dining room chairs, and a kitchen/working table (at this time). Ikea is a marvelous resource for people living with small spaces and budgets of equal size.
