7 Tips To Get A Better Night’s Sleep

Sleep impacts every part of our lives. From our performance at work & the interactions with loved ones, to our health and mental well-being. In today’s hustle and bustle – quality sleep is often hard to come by. Because of stress, work, and TV marathons (haha), I’ve fallen short on sleep quite a few nights. To get a better night’s sleep, one big improvement we recently made was upgrading our mattress (from queen size to king!) Eve Mattress has been a lifesaver in helping us get adequate sleep.

A few small tweaks to your everyday habits can make big improvements to your everyday living. I hope this inspires you to make your sleep a priority.

Top 7 Tips To Get A Better Night’s Sleep

1. Choosing the Right Mattress

Picking out a mattress is a big task. After having ours for quite some time (and having two dogs in bed with us every night!) – we could definitely tell we were due for an upgrade to a king sized mattress. We were very interested in trying out Eve. A memory foam mattress? Yes please!

The Eve Mattress is a foam mattress and combines three different types of foam to form one amazingly comfortable mattress. The bottom layer is an ultra-resilient base foam. The middle layer is made from highest quality, luxurious memory foam and the top layer is New-generation Memory Foam, reducing pressure on joints. This makes for a cloud-like sleeping experience. Can you believe Eve also has a 100-night free trial where if you don’t absolutely fall in love with your mattress, you can send it back free of charge with a full refund! They also offer free shipping! Amazing right?

Our Eve arrived to our doorstep in a compact box. The king mattress was tightly wound up inside. (crazy, right?) We got it upstairs, pulled it out of the packaging, and watched it magically unroll in front of our eyes. We were instantly sold when it expanded out over our king bed frame in seconds. I definitely appreciate the amazing yellow trim and graphic design within the box itself. Yellow just brightens you up and makes you a little bit happier!

2. Adjust Your Bedroom

Your bedroom has a big impact on your quantity and quality of sleep. For your best night’s sleep try keeping your bedroom dark, cool, and quiet. We recently painted our bedroom a dark gray color. It feels a lot cozier and not as bright as it was before. Having extra light is a natural cue for your body to wake up. Try and eliminate as many lights on alarm clocks, bright night lights, and other electronics is essential to giving your body the rest it deserves. We used to have a night light in the bathroom, but it was constantly waking us up at night. We removed it and have seen a big difference.

Keep your room at a comfortable level to get a better night’s sleep. The best temperature to fall asleep to is 65 degrees Fahrenheit. (According to studies)

Try out this thermostat. You can schedule it to lower your houses’ temperature at a certain time every night or while you are away.

3. Replacing Your Mattress

Your mattress set should be comfortable and provide proper support. If it’s sagging, worn out or more than 10 years old, you should think about upgrading your set. Our Experience with the Eve Mattress has been great! We have been sleeping on it for 2 weeks – and have been getting great sleep!

4. Stick to a Strict Bedtime

Making sure you are going to bed at the same time each night, waking at the same time every morning, and avoiding long naps during the day can help stabilize your internal clock, and in turn lead to a better night’s sleep.

5. Maintaining a Healthy Lifestyle

Eating a healthy diet and getting a good night’s sleep go hand in hand. Exercising regularly can help with relaxing and reducing mental stress, which in turn can make it easier to fall asleep at night.

6. Routine, Routine, Routine

Just as sticking to bedtime can help improve sleep, so can sticking to a nightly routine. Find something that helps you relax each night before bed. Reading, writing in a journal or taking a bath are all great ways to unwind after a long day.

7. Nighttime Teas

Chamomile tea is an excellent choice to stimulate sleep. It helps you calm down, by relaxing the nerves and calming the stomach, promoting a great, peaceful night’s sleep. For maximum benefits, drink this tea about 30 minutes before bed.

One major perk about our new mattress? Eve offers a 100 night trial – if you don’t like the mattress, they pick it up and give a full refund! How amazing is that?! We will definitely be keeping ours, though!
