6 Tips For Choosing Your Wedding Band

Deciding on a wedding band is a fun process. Mixing and matching your wedding ring and band can be a fun and unique process. Below I have listed out my top 6 tips on choosing your wedding band. I opted to buy mine at Stones & Gold! I wanted a unique rose gold wedding band. They had many different options to choose from!

1. Narrow Down Your Choices

Because this is one of the few jewelry items you will wear on a daily basis, it’s smart to make some choices early on before you start your search. Here are some questions you should ask yourself: Do you want your band to be the same metal as your engagement ring? Are you interested in something simple or more unique? Would you like your bands to include diamonds? Work out these kind of questions early on so you can figure out what you are looking for before buying

2. Start Early

Once you have a basic idea of what you’d like, it’s time to make that leap and purchase that wedding band. There are many ways to buy engagement bands. You can buy them in a store closest to you or buy online. I fell in love with Stones & Gold. They provide unique and budget friendly wedding bands. Give yourselves at least two to three months before the wedding date to ring shop. You’ll need this time to browse, research prices and revisit rings that catch your eye. Please note: Some things like engravings and special details take a little longer, so plan ahead!

3. Think Outside The Box

Who says you cant have mixed metals between your engagement ring and band. I do believe picking out wedding bands that fit your individual style is key. I have a rose gold ring and wedding band and my fiance is going to have a platnum wedding band. There’s no rule that says you have to choose the same metal or even style. It is a great idea to have some aspect of your rings match. (an inscription is a great idea!)

4. Be Practical

Remember: You’re going to wear this band every day, so the goal is to choose something that will become a part of your life. If you work with your hands on your job, search for a simple, solid metal ring and avoid gemstones that can come loose.

5. Long Term Is Key

Make sure the style you choose is something you’ll want to wear forever. This ring is meant to last through all the jobs, so pick one you can picture yourself wearing for a long time. Don’t stress too much on this process – you can always add change things/upgrade on a later date or anniversary.

6. Size Your Finger Properly

Your fingers will swell and contract from heat, cold, etc. Make sure you are measuring your finger when you are calm and your body temp is normal. You can either head into your nearest jewelry store and they can fit you for free – or you can use this finger sizing chart to measure.
