Destination Wedding Planning – Personalized Gifts & Registry

0

The wedding planning for our Destination Wedding is coming along and Katelyn from Katalina Girl and I are excited to share another tidbit of the planning process with you. Its a fun journey to plan your wedding, so we are grateful to have each other to talk about details. In case you missed the first couple of posts of our wedding planning process – you can view them HERE & HERE. Katelyn is getting married a few short months ahead of me at Cabo San Lucas, Mexico.

Today we are sharing some fun personalized wedding gift ideas & an inside peek of our wedding registries.

Cutting Board

A personalized cutting board is a wonderful way to celebrate an anniversary, wedding, housewarming and many more occasions in your life. Twisted Branch Designs allows you to choose from a wide variety of designs. You can include your names, wedding date, and even a monogram (in our case.) We love it, and have been putting it to good use.

Passport Covers

For a destination wedding, these passport covers are PERFECT! Created by State of Muse, this gift can be personalized however you’d like. If you’re attending a wedding that isn’t destination, gift them for the couple’s honeymoon.

Mexico Print

Katelyn and I both fell in love with A Gier’s Print Designs. They were perfect for our Mexico Destination Weddings. They personalized the maps for each of us and it will be a great reminder of where we got married for years to come.

Our Registry:

JJ and i are so grateful for each and every single person that is going to make their way down to Mexico with us to celebrate our wedding day. That is the biggest and best gift anyone could give us. Some people have been asking us if we are going to create a registry and where at, since bringing gifts down to Mexico wouldn’t be ideal. We have decided to go with MyRegisty.com for ours.

Online gift registries have become more and more popular with brides in recent years. Couples often already have the stuff you would typically register for, so they want to think a little outside the box with an online registry.

Benefits of MyRegistry.com:

You can add gifts from anywhere on the web
Instead of limiting yourself to a few stores, MyRegistry lets you add gifts from anywhere – even offline stores. All of your gifts are easy to see on your online registry, which guests can peruse by item category or just browse around. For online stores, you can add gifts with just a click of a button. For offline stores, you can add items yourself. Easy-peasy!

Its an easy online registry for you and your guests
Out of all the online gift registries, MyRegistry is the most intuitive, both to set up and to purchase from. Online shopping is way easier for all concerned and hugely popular these days… it’s ideal for guests who are traveling or if you’re having a destination wedding because gifts can be shipped right to your house instead of being carted around.

You can ask for cash
As an online bridal registry, MyRegistry is cool because it lets you ask for cash, but in a way that doesn’t offend. Online, you can ask for things like gift cards or even just cash, but you label it as going towards something: your honeymoon, a down payment on your first house, etc. Guests can contribute to these types of gifts and feel good knowing that their cash is going towards something you really need – and you get to collect the money and help make your life as newlyweds that much smoother.

Group-Gifting
So, you want a new living room set? A new mattress? These are expensive gifts that go way beyond the average wedding gift price tag – but one of the biggest perks of MyRegistry is that it allows guests to contribute a portion of your pricier gifts, rather than just having to go the “all or nothing” route. You are far more likely to get these items this way, as opposed to crossing your fingers that someone wants to drop several hundred (or thousand) dollars on your wedding gift all by themselves.

Personalize the registry
Make your MyRegistry site cute by including photos and a personal message. Include your engagement story, a pic of the ring, etc. You can thank people in advance for joining you on your big day in your personal site message and invite them to contact you with any questions.
